Project Overview

The client is Keebrother, a long-established hardware brand in Taiwan that primarily sells various hardware parts and tools. Previously relying on physical retail channels, their existing website was built with WordPress. They wanted to build a brand-new corporate website to enhance their professional brand image and customer trust.

One of the core challenges of this project was migrating over 400 product records from WordPress to the new system, including product images, categories, descriptions, and other formats. Through a carefully designed import process, we ensured zero data loss during migration.

The entire project adopted a decoupled frontend-backend architecture. The backend uses Laravel for data processing and API services, while the frontend is built with the Nuxt3 framework. We developed the internal admin panel and 30+ APIs for frontend consumption, with a complete content management system included.

02

AWS S3 Integration

Seamless cloud storage integration providing stable file management services and ensuring high availability of media resources

03

Scribe API Documentation

Auto-generated interactive API documentation that improves development collaboration efficiency, with much simpler syntax than Swagger

04

Multimedia Processing

Supports intelligent conversion of various media formats including images and videos, with YouTube video embed conversion

Backend Technical Details

Full API Architecture

Nearly all data in this project is handled through APIs, with the admin panel providing full CRUD operations for all data. Following RESTful API design principles, it offers a complete resource operation interface.

Data Migration

Since the old website was built with WordPress, the data migration process was carefully designed to handle image paths in the rich text editor, YouTube video embed conversion, and multiple file formats, ensuring all data was correctly transferred to the new system.

New Technology Exploration

This project introduced services we had not used before:

  • AWS S3 — Cloud file storage service. This was one of our earliest projects using the AWS ecosystem, which we did not continue using afterward
  • Scribe API Docs — API documentation generation tool with a far superior experience to Swagger and very concise syntax

Scribe Experience

Scribe is incredibly practical, with much simpler syntax compared to Swagger. It is very frontend-friendly — our favorite feature is its ability to generate corresponding code snippets for frontend engineers to copy and paste, greatly accelerating the development workflow for both sides. Documentation is automatically generated from code annotations, keeping docs in sync with the codebase.

Frontend Technology Choice

The project frontend uses Nuxt3 with SSG (Static Site Generation) mode, pre-generating static HTML for all pages. This ensures search engines can properly index the website content while also delivering excellent loading speed and performance. After deploying to Netlify, we enjoyed the convenience of CI/CD automated deployment.
